Transphobia is a general term for discrimination against, or dislike of, people who are transgender. It has been noted that cisgender people can experience forms of transphobia when they are thought to be transgender, or if their gender expression does not conform to social expectations.[1] Deadnaming—the act of purposefully using a transgender person's pre-transition name instead of their chosen one—is an example of one such harmful behavior.[2]
